Our long established, thriving and well attended section of the club has everything that a small boat owner needs in both facilities and enthusiasm.

Take a look around the boats in the compounds and you will see for yourself that angling plays a huge part. For the angler with a competitive streak there are competitions a-plenty. For the person that just can’t stand their home life there is a fishing hut where you can switch on the fire, boil the kettle and then stick your nose into everyone’s business. Perfect.

If those are not good enough reasons to get involved then may I put your mind at ease and let you into a secret. Fishing is nothing to do with fishing! You see, the practice of fooling a fish is just the tie that binds us, the excuse to chat, gossip and make friends. Some of our most active members rarely fish, I’m sure some of them have never tied a hook in their lives but this doesn’t stop them TALKING about it and that’s what matters.

No, fishing isn’t the reason we gather, it’s the excuse and the ECA allows us to do so.
If you’re curious and fancy coming to a meeting then please do, I promise that you won’t get lost among technical jargon (we actively dissuade anyone from showing any expertise whatsoever). For novices and experienced anglers alike the ECA fishing section has been forging friendships for decades and will continue to do so for as long as there are fish swimming in the sea.
